The data in this index comes from the Awin platform, the UK’s largest affiliate network, looking at over 1000 online-only and omnichannel retailers. This dataset compares year-on-year performance between Q2 2021 and Q2 2020.
Sub-category performance trends
This metric is focused on some of the retail sub-categories that Awin track, comparing sales, traffic and average order value (AOV) performance between Q2 2021 and Q2 2020. As the below graph shows, there was an increase in sales performance across most retail categories, despite the re-opening of non-essential retail. The most notable declines were for electrical accessories and gifts & flowers.
