The data in this index comes from the Awin platform, the UK’s largest affiliate network, looking at over 1,000 online-only and omnichannel retailers. This dataset compares year-on-year performance between Q3 2021 and Q3 2020.
Sub-category performance trends
This metric is focused on some of the retail sub-categories that Awin track, comparing sales, traffic and average order value (AOV) performance between Q3 2021 and Q3 2020. As shown by the graph below, there was an increase in sales performance across the majority of online retail categories, despite the return of shopping in-store. The most notable declines were for electrical accessories and childrenswear.
