Justin Opie - Managing Director

With over 20 years' experience launching and developing IT, digital marketing, retail and e commerce media, including brands such as Adtech and E Commerce Expo, Justin has developed a deep understanding of these communities, and offers a broad perspective of what makes these fast-moving markets tick.

Now Justin is exclusively focused on leading IMRG's next phase of development, ensuring IMRG is well-positioned to serve the e-retail community by collecting and analysing valuable market data from the membership, supporting retailers through policy work and facilitating professional development across the industry through events, reports and other media.

James J R Roper - Founder IMRG

James Roper is Founder of IMRG (Interactive Media in Retail Group), the UK industry association for e-retailing. He has worked exclusively on interactive retail e-projects since the mid-1980s and is actively involved in the development of international e-commerce industry standards, measurement, knowledge, governance and cooperation.

Acknowledged as having a unique and holistic insight into the evolution of the electronic commerce industry, James leads IMRG's mission to inform, assist and enable the successful adoption of e-commerce by business, government and consumers in Europe and worldwide, by providing access to community, intelligence and usable know-how.

Andy Mulcahy - Strategy and Insight Director

Andy has worked at the heart of the online retail industry since 2010 – researching and producing reports on trends and developments affecting the sector. During that time, Andy has developed strong knowledge in multiple areas of online retail, with particular expertise in Black Friday. Andy is also a frequent conference speaker and media commentator.

Matthew Walsh - Data and Retail Director

Matthew is responsible for all of the data and market reporting that IMRG publish. He produces the IMRG CapGemini Retail Index which is the largest and longest running eCommerce benchmark in the UK.

Matthew also regularly provides data presentations to our retail members explaining the latest trends in ecommerce. Matthew is the first point of contact for our retail members.

He has valuable retail experience having worked as an analyst for a top UK retailer and at one the largest online marketplaces in the world.

Andrew Starkey - Head of e-Logistics

As well as being Head of e-Logistics, Andrew Starkey leads research and the member support programme at IMRG. He has an extensive background in the world of parcels and postal logistics including senior commercial roles in Royal Mail, Executive Director of Postcomm and Commercial Director of Jersey Post International.

Andrew is the founder and lead consultant for the Spiral4… consulting and the author of leading edge reports. He is a recognised expert in e-retail logistics and a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Institute of Direct Marketing.

Davinder Bhatia - Head of Sales

Davinder manages the supplier memberships for IMRG, making sure our solution providers are able to maximise the value of the market insight and data we provide from our extensive retailer community.

Regularly providing data presentations to our supplier members helping guide them through the latest trends in eCommerce, Davinder is the first point of contact for all our supplier members.

Paul Evans - Head of Member Services

Responsible for all IMRG events and member account management, Pauls organised approach has enabled IMRG to successfully host a range of large events and conferences with it's extensive membership community - from venue sourcing and sponsor negotiating to organising speakers and content

Paul also plays an active role in supporting the business development team in meetings for new clients by offering a proactive management of solution provider and retailer accounts.

Charles Scherer - Membership Manager - Solution Providers

Charles helps solution providers get the most out of IMRG. He serves as the point of contact for IMRG supplier members who are aiming to reach retailers, helping them to generate leads and grow their company profile in the ecommerce sector.

Max Barenthin - Marketing Manager

Max manages the IMRG marketing to ensure the brand remains at the forefront of online retailers minds when it comes to benchmarking their results and discovering industry-leading insights first.

Responsible for all online marketing activity such as Social Media Marketing, Content Marketing and Email Marketing, Max comes from a retailer marketing background.

Maheen Rizvi – Retail Membership Executive

Maheen is responsible for building relationships and recruiting new retailers to IMRG’s data index, while maintaining relationships and managing accounts of existing retailers.

Will Gillingham – Content Executive

Will is responsible for all things content at IMRG. He manages the blog stream, serving as proofreader and editor for the guest articles which IMRG publish, as well as the in-house copywriter for any collateral IMRG produces. With a background of proofreading and editing in an academic space, Will brings an experienced editorial eye to the company.

Masha Cilliers – Payment Consultant

Masha Cilliers has built a successful career in the payments industry over the past 20 years. Having held key roles at a variety of large international firms, including Visa International and Microsoft, Masha has established herself as a definitive voice in online and mobile commerce, and is a frequent guest at conferences and seminars.

With a wealth of experience in online business strategy, Masha began consulting in 2012. Her expertise has since been called upon by a portfolio of international merchants, and she currently holds a Partner role at pan-European consulting firm iBe, while also being a Non-Executive Director at Limonetik and PaySME.

Andrew McClelland - Head of Insight - Consultant

Andrew McClelland has been involved in digital commerce for over 11 years and having held senior roles at e-Retail trade body IMRG, has a unique insight into the development of online retail, changing consumer trends and the challenges that incorporating a digital offering into a more traditional retail proposition presents.

With a strong, senior level, commercial background, Andrew has developed sales teams, worked with large businesses to develop go-to-market strategies and helped blue-chip organisations to understand the digital landscape.
