Department stores rise in September retailer ranking

The latest IMRG comScore Retailer Ranking (based on September data from comScore MMX Multi-platform) reveals a positive month for department store retailers.  Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis and Marks & Spencer all rose slightly in the rankings compared with September last year. The overall biggest climber last month was Domino’s Pizza, rising 31 places year-on-year, taking 33rd place on the list. The biggest fallers were HP.com and Ryanair, both down 9 places from September 2015.

TUI Group made strong year-on-year gains in the mobile rankings during September, with Thomson gaining 56 positions in the smartphone ranking (#34), while First Choice rose a staggering 127 positions in the tablet ranking to reach 19th place this time.

There was no change at the top with Amazon UK, Apple, Argos and Tesco taking the top 4 places across all devices (including the smartphone and tablet rankings) during September. Three other brands also featured in the top 10 rankings for both smartphones and tablets – Netflix, Asda and Boots.
