IMRG Legal Workshop for suppliers

The changing definitions of personal data

Overview

Even with the uncertainty of ‘Brexit’, the new rules around data protection will be enforced as of May 2018. The ICO announced in early October 2016 that business would be expected to be compliant with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by then, not just starting out.

To help suppliers to the retail industry understand their new obligations, including changes to liability, gaining consent for marketing activity, fines and data portability, IMRG will be hosting a workshop on the 5th July 2017. Experts from Ashfords will be providing insight and you will have the opportunity to discuss the challenges with your peers. You will leave the workshop with actionable insight that you can take back to your business.

Open to suppliers to the retail industry, the event will run between 10:00 and 12:30 and is held in Central London.

GDPR impacts many different areas of retailing and some of the changes will impact how you interact and sell to retailers. Others represent a major change in managing risk and exposure should a business suffer from a data breach.

We look forward to welcoming you to this session, chaired by Andrew McClelland.
