Digital Operations Director | Argos
Mark Steel is Digital Operations Director at Argos, one of the UK’s leading multi-channel retailers. As part of the Argos senior management team Mark is responsible for leading all customer, marketing and commercial activities across all online channels for Argos. Specifically this includes all digital marketing activities, site merchandising and content, digital design, analytics and digital operations. Previously he has held leadership roles with Argos in marketing, buying and merchandising and retail operations.
He lives in Buckinghamshire, UK with his wife and two boys, aged seven and five, with whom he enjoys cycling, swimming and generally creating mischief.

As Omni-Channel Director at B&Q Andy has over 20 years’ experience across core areas of retail - having worked in the disciplines of store management, supply chain, buying, strategy, international and latterly eCommerce.
This experience has been gained at leading retailers within their fields such as Wyevale the garden centre chain, Screwfix a multi-channel trade leader and B&Q the leading home improvement retailer.

Direct responsibility for all aspects of the digital customer experience and driving sales digitally through all channels - eCommerce, Retail and Wholesale. Responsible for the EMEA E-Commerce business unit P&L.
Providing strategy and direction for developing and implementing omni-channel initiatives, striving to create seamless cross-channel experiences for consumers within EMEA utilising CRM tools and digital products.
Chief Operating Officer | Feelunique.com
Jim joined Feelunique as COO in May 2014, bringing over 25 years’ experience in consumer and online businesses. Feelunique is a leading online retailer of premium beauty products and Jim is responsible for customer experience, marketing, operations, technology and finance.
Jim began his career at KPMG, followed by senior finance roles at the BBC and Dell Computers. Since 2001, he has held leadership roles in earlier stage businesses with two successful exits; selling Propertyfinder.com to News International in 2005 and movie subscription service, LOVEFiLM to Amazon in 2011.
Prior to joining Feelunique, Jim was CFO of Wiggle, the online retailer of cycling and tri-sports products.
Director of Customer Insight | House of Fraser
In her role as Head of Online Engagement at House of Fraser, Madeleine Melson is responsible for the front-end customer experience across the digital channels. Key achievements in the 5 years she’s spent at House of Fraser include an award-winning “touch first” redesign in 2014.
Madeleine has 9 years online retail experience covering premium, pure-play and multi-channel retailers, including John Lewis, Figleaves and Browns Fashion
Managing Director Digital | Jack Wills
Mark Wright has been the Managing Director for Digital at Jack Wills for 18months where he’s responsible for Global Ecommerce as well as CRM and Customer Services. In this time Mark has re-platformed the website, re-structured his team and introduced agile working to web development putting the customer and data at the heart of decision-making.
His previous experience includes a wide range of roles in retail including Head of UK Trading for M&S.com, Store Operations and field positions as both Store and Regional Manager.
Marketing Director | JD Williams
Ann first got a taste for Marketing as a student job in Market research, interviewing the public on any topic from toothpaste to biscuits on streets and shopping centres all around the Midlands.
Her career started at GUS (now Shop Direct) as a graduate, where she progressed to New Business Development Manager working on launching a series of new catalogues including the Disney catalogue. This gave her the opportunity to work across functions and understand the operations of a Home Shopping business. Moving to Littlewoods (also now Shop Direct), Ann was part of the team to launch the first Littlewoods website. Ann went on to Head up Ecommerce for Littlewoods before moving to head up Marketing for the Direct business.
Ann joined NBrown Group as Head of Ecommerce and grew the team from 25 to over 100 and sales to over 50% of the business. Again moving into lead Marketing team for younger brands before being promoted to the operating board in 2014.
Director Online Trade | John Lewis
Mark is Director, Online Trade at John Lewis. He is responsible for Online sales and Operations and delivering an ever improving end to end customer experience.Previously, he was at Sainsbury's in roles including Strategy, Pricing and Online Trading for Food, General Merchandise and Clothing.
Prior to this, Mark worked at Carphone Warehouse in Strategy and general management roles. Mark began his career in Management Consulting.
Digital Director | Kingfisher PLC
Mike Durbridge is Director of Omni Channel at B&Q. Mike is accountable for defining and implementing and leading a customer led, Omni Channel Digital Strategy to transform B&Q into a true Omni Channel Retailer, with seamless customer experiences. Prior to joining B&Q in March 2013, Mike spent four years leading the Retail, Online and Contact Centre channels at Vodafone UK, creating the first multichannel operation for Vodafone globally.
Mike has had a variety of marketing, sales, commercial and operational leadership roles in telecom, financial services and mail order businesses over the course of his 20 year career and is a strong believer that the key to commercial success for modern retailing is to ensure that customers, enabled by choice, simplicity and consistency, are placed at the heart of any business.
eCommerce Director | Lidl
Alex has over 16 years e-commerce experience, beginning his career at UK fine wine merchant Berry Bros. & Rudd, driving online innovation and winning the International Wine Challenge 'Website of the Year' award 5 years in a row.
In 2006, he moved to the videogames retailer, the GAME Group, leading the online trading and customer experience teams. Then, in 2009, Alex moved to Waitrose, initially to head up the Waitrose Wine Direct business, but soon assumed additional responsibility for the online grocery trading team.
From 2012, he has been primarily focused on digital strategy and developing the omnichannel proposition. He joined Lidl in March 2016. He is married with 3 children, 2 cats and not enough wine.
eCommerce Director | New Look
Sally Heath is the eCommerce Director at New Look and is responsible for trade across the UK and European websites. Sally spent over 15 years in fashion buying before specialising in eCommerce and loves the pace and innovation that the digital age has brought to retail.
New Look’s eCommerce sales grew over 30% last year and has ambitious growth planned again this year both locally and internationally.
VP Commerce | QVC Channel
Brian joined QVC in 2000 as the Director of Media Operations.
Now Vice President of Commerce Platforms UK and Global Content, Brian overseas QVCUK.com, the broadcast channels (Live and Non Live), mobile apps, social media, digital marketing and the customer marketing team. As part of his global role, he is responsible for new content systems and providing oversight for QVC content teams in all markets.
Brian was previously Head of Production at ITV, and has over thirty years of experience in television, nearly as long as the medium itself. He has an MBA from Warwick University.
Married to Siobhan, and with two children and an excitable Labrador, Brian is a keen cyclist and sports fan.
Head of eCommerce & Customer Services | Schuh
Sean McKee is an experienced retailer who progressed through a range of retail roles including store, regional and divisional management at Schuh, before getting into eCommerce in 2010.
A long-time advocate of integrating bricks and clicks in the pursuit of an optimum retail experience, in his current role he has, among other things, delivered on mobile growth and a simple, cross-channel proposition. He is passionate about delivering choice and convenience to an increasingly sophisticated, demanding and tech-enabled customer.
A regular contributor at eCommerce events in the UK and elsewhere, his current interests include CRO, use of content, developments in voice and visual search, AI and the start-up ecosystem.
Director of eCommerce | Screwfix
Sue is the Director of Ecommerce at Screwfix and has nearly 20 years experience in retail gained across multiple disciplines. She started her career as a qualified accountant and has held senior roles at Peacocks, AXA & Screwfix.
She’s been with Screwfix for the last 11 years and leads the Ecommerce team for the UK & European sites. She has combined her analytical skills with digital, and takes a data driven approach to decision making.
Screwfix is one of the UK’s leading omnichannel retailers with over 500 stores in the UK & Germany and over £1bn sales.
Group eCommerce Director | Shop Direct
Jonathan, who was named best digital leader at the Drapers Digital Awards 2016, heads-up the strong eCommerce team at the UK’s second largest pureplay online retailer, Shop Direct. He is charged with delivering the best possible digital users journeys for the company’s four million customers.
His award-winning team drives new visitors to Shop Direct’s sites, optimises its online presence, and improves conversion rates and visitor journeys – all with a focus on mobile.
The eCommerce team is playing a crucial role in Shop Direct’s ongoing digital transformation, which recently saw the group announce its fourth consecutive year of sales and profit growth for its financial year to 30 June 2016, during which time 62% of online sales originated from mobile devices.

Michel is a digital and e-commerce pioneer. He started as head of new media at Sony Music in the early 90’s, and has since filled several senior executive positions with international B2C and B2B multichannel companies (including Bertelsmann, Manutan, Quelle, Conrad, Camaïeu).
Michel relocated to the UK to join Marks & Spencer where he grew their international online sales, and more recently supported the omni-channel strategy of electronics retailer Maplin as eCommerce Director.
In 2015, he joined TIME inc. UK to drive new business growth and e-commerce initiatives, and as a CMO led a company wide customer marketing transformation program.

Lee has been at Wickes for over 2 and a half years, in that time he has driven the transformation of their multichannel strategy delivering significant change and sales growth.
Prior to this Lee was Global Head of Ecommerce at FitFlop, leading their Global Digital Strategy. Before this, Lee spent 15 years in various Retail and Ecommerce roles at Schuh, latterly leading their online charge and driving significant technology change and revenue growth.
