This report focuses on trends, issues, data and forecasts concerning B2C e-commerce in the BRICS countries. BRICS is an international political organisation of leading emerging economies, arising out of the inclusion of South Africa into the BRIC group in 2010. As of 2012, its five members are Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
The countries share a large population and moderate to high economic growth, but still relatively low internet penetration rates. B2C e-commerce grew over 300% in the five countries since 2008 and from 2011 onward, internet usage and B2C e-commerce is set to grow significantly.
