Tesco to reward customers via Facebook
Tesco is trialling an app on Facebook that enables customers to earn double Clubcard points by using the social network to like, share and buy products via the retailer’s website. The four-week trial is part of Tesco’s plans to better integrate Clubcard with digital platforms.
Customers must register for the ‘Share & Earn’ Facebook app by connecting their Clubcard account with the app. They can then choose to share and like products when shopping on any of Tesco’s websites.
Matthew Entwistle, Marketing Director for General Merchandise Online from Tesco, said: “More and more of our customers are using Facebook to chat about and recommend products they like from Tesco direct. And we know our customers also like to collect extra Clubcard points, so we’re really pleased to offer them a fantastic way to do both things at the same time. It’s our way of saying thanks for supporting us online.”
The grocery retailer currently has over 800,000 followers on Facebook.
