Domino’s Pizza web sales reach £58m in 2008
Pizza chain Domino’s has revealed its online sales soared by 74% in 2008 to £58 million, up from £32.2 million in the previous year. The company also reported a number of weekends when it achieved web sales of over £1 million. The fast food chain also revealed its online sales during the Christmas trading period, covering the 13 weeks to 28 December, climbed by 56.2%.
Chris Moore, chief executive, said that the Pizza chain’s sponsorship of TV hit show Britain's Got Talent had helped it to achieve like-for-like sales growth of 10%, with total sales up by 18.4% to £350m.
A spokesperson for Domino's said: "Ecommerce continues to be a major platform for building business."
